Privacy policy

Effective starting: May 25, 2018

This privacy policy sets out how Bazefield AS uses and protects any information that you give Bazefield AS when you use this website and/or Bazefield portal for the Software as a Service (SaaS) customer. This policy also applies to the Bazefield iOS and Android app.

General

The European Union has decided to implement the General Data Protection Regulation (regulation 2016/679) (the "GDPR") to strengthen and harmonize privacy law for all individuals in the European Union. The GDPR enters into force in the EU on 25 May 2018, and in EEA (including Norway) from 1 July 2018. GDPR applies to personal data, meaning any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified. GDPR defines two key roles in the processing of such personal data from individuals (data subjects): 1. The "Controller" (who determine the purpose of collection of personal data, and who is responsible for having a lawful basis for such collection). 2. The "Processor" (who process personal data on behalf of the Controller, pursuant to a "Data processing agreement" (DPA) with the Controller). Bazefield has the following type of data: 1. Contractual information and information about authorized users. 2. Client owned data that is imported and stored in Bazefield's software solutions.

Contractual information and information about authorized users
In all client contracts, there are some personal data about the client and specific contact information. This is basic information such as Name, company, phone number and email address that is obtained in order for Bazefield to deliver the agreed services to client, and "contractual fulfillment" or "legitimate interest" is the legal basis for such processing. Similarly, the client's designated administrator of Bazefields's software solutions gives user rights and when logging on to the software solution, the name and e- mail address is provided. Bazefield is the Controller for these personal data. There is no need for a DPA in this respect, as this is simply personal data collected by a Controller from a data subject in accordance with the agreement between Bazefield and the client.

Client owned data that is imported and stored in Bazefield
Importantly, the client is responsible for its compliance with GDPR and other privacy laws for the personal data the client processes as part of the client owned data that is imported and stored in Basefield's software solutions. If there is personal data in the client owned data imported and stored in Bazefield, it is the responsibility of the client to ensure that it has a legal basis for such processing. Moreover, it is in such the client's responsibility to enter into a DPA with Bazefield. To this end, Bazefield may be contacted at [e-mail address] in order to be provided with Bazefield's standard DPA.
